The Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback took a year off and is returning for the 2017 model year with some significant updates. Most noticeable are its exterior styling updates, including new bumpers, headlights, and taillights. These changes give it a more muscular, modern appearance. Buyers will also find an updated interior with higher quality materials.
Buyers can choose from three trim levels on the 2017 Mirage: ES, SE, and GT. Standard features on the base trim include a rear spoiler, automatic headlights, power accessories, LED taillights, a CD player, and USB and auxiliary audio inputs.
Higher trim levels add features like a rearview camera, cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, a 6.5-inch touchscreen, automatic climate control, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and heated front seats.
With several available packages, buyers can customize their Mirage even more. Features like rear parking sensors, a Rockford Fosgate Premium Audio package, chrome exterior accents, and additional interior lighting will be popular choices.
Powering the Mirage is a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine rated at 78 horsepower and 74 lb-ft of torque. It can be mated to either a five-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission (CVT). When equipped with the CVT, the Mirage gets an EPA-estimated 37 mpg city/43 mpg highway*.
